Red alert in Maharashtra: PM Modi's inauguration of projects worth Rs 22,600 crore postponed!

PM MODI Pune tour: Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has postponed his Pune tour. Rain alert has been issued in Mumbai today. Yesterday evening (25 September 2024) many areas were submerged due to heavy rains. Flights to and from Mumbai have also been affected due to weather conditions in Maharashtra. Many flights had to be diverted at Mumbai airport also.

Red alert has been issued in Mumbai and surrounding areas

The rain, which started at 5 pm on Wednesday (September 25), disrupted normal life in Mumbai and surrounding areas. Four people lost their lives in the rain that lasted for about five hours. Many local trains of Mumbai are running late due to rain. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert of heavy rain in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad on Thursday (26 September 2024).

Many flights were diverted

Due to heavy rain, 14 flights were diverted at Mumbai airport on Wednesday and had to land at other airports. Of these, nine flights were of IndiGo, which were not allowed to land in the city due to bad weather. Due to route diversion, seven planes were directed to land at Hyderabad, four at Ahmedabad, two at Mopa airport in Goa and one at Udaipur.

This was PM Modi's program

PM Modi was to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various projects worth Rs 22,600 crore during his Pune visit. This also included the inauguration of the Solapur Airport and the inauguration of the Param Rudra Supercomputer. The PM was also going to launch an initiative worth Rs 10,400 crore in the petroleum and natural gas sector here. During his Pune visit, PM Modi was scheduled to inaugurate and travel in the new metro line from Civil Court to Swargate.
