1 big good news for ration card holders in UP!

Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh government has announced big relief for ration card holders in the month of December. As per the instructions of the Food and Logistics Department, free food grains, maize/rice and sugar will be distributed across the state between December 10 and December 28. The benefit of this special campaign will be available to cardholders of both Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Eligible Household (PHH) categories.

What will be available in which districts?

1. AAY cardholders in special 23 districts will get:

Agra, Aligarh, Firozabad, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hapur, Auraiya, Bahraich, Ballia, Badaun, Bulandshahr, Hardoi, Hathras, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Mirzapur, Rampur, Sambhal and Unnao. Antyodaya beneficiaries in these districts will be provided 14 kg wheat, 16 kg fortified rice, 5 kg maize (if maize is not available, rice can be used instead).

2. AAY cardholders in all other districts will get:

Distribution of 14 kg wheat, 21 kg rice, cheap sugar from October to December. Antyodaya cardholders will be given 3 kg sugar per month for three months (October-December). Sugar rate: Rs 18 per kg, total for three kg: Rs 54

What will the eligible household (PHH) get?

2 kg wheat, 3 kg fortified rice will be distributed to general eligible household cardholders.

ration distribution time

For the convenience of cardholders, distribution will be done in two shifts. 8 am to 12 noon, 2 pm to 6 pm. This distribution will be done from all the government ration shops across the state.

objective of the plan

The aim of the government is to provide timely and quality food grains to every eligible family. Efforts have been made to increase the nutritional level through fortified rice, and to ensure availability of food grains by providing alternative items such as maize.
