Unnao Rape Victim’s Father’s Murder Case: Delhi High Court orders Jaideep, brother of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, convicted in the murder case of Unnao rape victim’s father, to surrender.

New Delhi. Jaideep Singh Sengar alias Atul Singh, brother of former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, has received a setback from the Delhi High Court in the case of custodial death of Unnao rape victim’s father. Jaideep had filed a petition in the court demanding extension of his interim bail citing health reasons, hearing which the court ordered Jaideep to surrender by tomorrow i.e. Saturday. The High Court has asked for Jaideep’s health report. In this case, both former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his brother Jaideep have been sentenced to 10 years each by the trial court.

Jaideep has claimed in the petition that he is suffering from ‘advanced stage cancer’ of the mouth. His cancer is showing signs of recurrence and requires immediate treatment. The court has refused to grant relief at present and has decided to hear the main interim bail petition granted on medical grounds again on February 24. Earlier, Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his brother had filed a bail petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the sentence. From there the application was rejected. After this Kuldeep Singh Sengar had approached the Supreme Court.

However, he did not get relief even from the Supreme Court. On February 9, the Supreme Court, while hearing the bail plea of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, asked the Delhi High Court to decide within three months on the convict’s plea against the sentence awarded by the trial court. On the other hand, an application has also been filed in the Delhi High Court on behalf of the rape victim demanding increase in the sentence of Kuldeep Singh Sengar. Earlier, the Supreme Court had refused to grant bail to Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the rape case.
