Abdullah Azam Dual PAN Card Case: The sentence of Azam Khan and his son Abdullah was extended by 3 years each, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh each.

New Delhi. The troubles of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam are not ending. In the two PAN card cases of Abdullah Azam, the MP-MLA court of Rampur has increased the sentence of both of them by three years. Besides, a fine of Rs 5 lakh each has been imposed on the father and son. Earlier, on November 17, 2025, the same court had sentenced Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam to seven years in jail each in the same case and had imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on both of them.

BJP leader Akash Saxena, who had filed a complaint against Azam and his son, had filed a petition through his lawyer demanding increase in the sentence of Azam and Abdullah, on which the court gave its verdict today. The petitioner’s lawyer had argued for increasing the punishment of Azam and his son that this is a serious case related to misuse and fraud of government identity card (PAN card), hence it is necessary to give harsh punishment to the culprits, so that a message can be sent to the society. Both Azam and Abdullah are in jail after being sentenced by the court on November 17, 2025.

It is noteworthy that BJP leader Akash Saxena, MLA from Rampur Nagar, had lodged a complaint at Civil Lines Kotwali on July 30, 2019. In which it was alleged that Azam, on the basis of his position and status, got a fake birth certificate made for his son Abdullah Azam from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. Abdullah Azam has made two PAN cards through fake documents. In one PAN card, Abdullah Azam’s date of birth is recorded as January 1, 1993, while in the other, his date of birth is September 30, 1990. Azam Khan was also made an accused in this case. Azam Khan’s wife Tanzeem Fatima also had to go to jail in this case.
