Jaishankar On Russian Crude: India will continue to buy crude oil from Russia, Foreign Minister Jaishankar gave a clear signal to America’s Marco Rubio
New Delhi. India has clearly stated many times that wherever it can get cheap crude oil, it will be purchased from there. The same thing was said on Sunday by Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also said this in front of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In the press conference shared with Marco Rubio after the meeting, Foreign Minister Jaishankar made a big statement on the purchase of crude oil from Russia and possible sanctions. Jaishankar said that this issue has been discussed, but the energy market should be left to market forces.

Jaishankar said in front of Marco Rubio that it is necessary to have many sources for our energy security. Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that these sources should be big, reliable and cheap. He said that America fits them. Besides, many other countries are also suitable for India in this matter. Foreign Minister Jaishankar clearly said that we will continue to take crude oil from many sources. He said that ultimately we have a responsibility towards our citizens. So that they can get fuel at cheap rates. Jaishankar said that we do not want to tamper with the energy market, no action should be taken against it. Because it has an impact.

It is clear from the latest statement of Foreign Minister Jaishankar that India has told America that the purchase of crude oil from Russia will not stop. Earlier recently, Petroleum Ministry Secretary Sujata Sharma had said that India continued to buy crude oil before the US sanctions on Russia, during the sanctions and even during the relaxation in sanctions. In fact, since the Ukraine war, India has been continuously buying crude oil from Russia at huge discounts. Whereas, America and European countries do not want India to buy crude oil from Russia. America and European countries say that Russia is gaining money to fight the war with Ukraine by selling crude oil to India. At the same time, India has clearly said that it will take steps on the issue of fuel and energy only keeping in mind the interest of its citizens and will not come under any pressure.
