Humayun Kabir New Party Babri Shilanyas Aimim Alliance

Expelled Trinamool Congress leader Humayun Kabir has made a big political announcement on Sunday (December 7) regarding the Babri Masjid issue. In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, he told that he will form his new political party on December 22 and will contest the upcoming Bengal Assembly elections in alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM. Kabir claimed that around 8 lakh people participated in the Babri Masjid foundation stone laying program organized in Beldanga, Murshidabad. He said that despite such a large crowd gathering, the event remained peaceful without any police help.

Kabir said that many industries of the country and Muslims across the country are with him. He said, “Muslims in India have a lot of money and they will fully help in the construction of Babri Masjid.” He also claimed that donations came in large numbers after the foundation stone laying ceremony. There was such a huge crowd of people donating bricks and cash in Beldanga that there was a jam on NH-12. A large number of people from Malda and Murshidabad districts were among those who donated.

Villagers told the media that this campaign could have an impact on TMC’s Muslim vote bank in the upcoming elections. During this period, Humayun Kabir made sharp attacks on both BJP and Trinamool Congress. He said, “I will not allow BJP to come to power in Bengal. Even Trinamool will not be able to form the next government.” Kabir claimed that he was going to be a “big gamechanger” in Bengal politics.

Talking about his new party, Kabir said that this party will work to strengthen the interests of Muslims and their political representation. He said that he will field candidates on 135 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. He also said, “I am in touch with AIMIM and will contest the elections with it. I have spoken to Owaisi.”

A day after the foundation stone laying ceremony, a huge crowd of donors gathered in Beldanga. People arrived with bricks, cash and construction materials. Due to this, there was a traffic jam in the area for hours. Local people say that this issue will now directly affect electoral politics and new political polarization may be seen in minority votes.
