15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s ODI debut, India A’s first match against Sri Lanka A in the Tri Nation Series will be held today.

New Delhi: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who surprised the cricket world with his talent at the age of just 15, is all set to show his talent in ODI cricket today. India A’s first match in the triangular ODI series starting in Sri Lanka on Tuesday, June 9, will be played against host Sri Lanka A. This will be his first match after IPL 2026 and all eyes are on this young sensation.

IPL star will now prove his strength in ODI

Vaibhav Suryavanshi created a stir across the country with his aggressive batting in the IPL. After his brilliant performance, he also got a place in the Indian T20 team. Now he is coming out to show his ability in the 50 over format.

He will be faced with the challenge of playing long innings along with aggressive style on the spin-friendly pitches of Sri Lanka. He was also seen playing defensively in the practice session, but his main identity is his fast and powerful batting.

Tilak Verma expressed confidence

India A captain Tilak Verma praised Vaibhav before the match and said that this series is a great opportunity for him to test himself in the longer format. Tilak said, “Everyone has seen what a talented player he is. He batted brilliantly in the final of the Under-19 World Cup. His role will be a little different on the slow pitches of Sri Lanka, but I am confident that he will do wonders here too.”

Tilak’s captaincy will also be tested

This series will also test the captaincy skills of Tilak Verma. He is being discussed as the future captain of the national team. Tilak said that he is full of confidence. He has captained in two series before and has also gained experience in Duleep Trophy.

India A will enter with a strong team

India A team looks very balanced and strong this time. Many IPL stars are included in the team. Vice-captain Rituraj Gaikwad, Prabhasimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, Nishant Sindhu, Kumar Kushagra, Ayush Badoni and all-rounder Suryansh Shedge will strengthen the batting.
