Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Ajay Shukla said that Pratap Sarangi (69) of Odisha and Mukesh Rajput of Uttar Pradesh were brought to the hospital from Parliament after suffering head injuries.
“Sarangi was bleeding profusely from his head. There was a deep wound on his forehead and he had to be stitched. When he was brought, his blood pressure and anxiety level were very high,” the doctor said.
Dr Shukla said, “Rajput also suffered a head injury after which he became unconscious. However, when he was brought to the hospital, he was conscious. His blood pressure had also increased significantly.”
Medical Superintendent of RML Hospital said that both the MPs have been given medicines to control blood pressure, pain and anxiety, while CT scan of the head and cardiac check-up are being conducted. The doctor said, “Both are in the ICU. We are trying to stabilize them.”

Later, Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Prahlad Joshi met Sarangi in the hospital and inquired about his well being. Chauhan told TV reporters that some stitches had been placed on Sarangi to stop bleeding. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “Appropriate action will be taken after investigating the injuries sustained by Sarangi.”
