24 Indian sailors in the attack on the merchant ship, what is the response of the ‘friend’ of America?
The US military attacked a commercial vessel near Oman on Monday. It had 24 Indian sailors. However, they were not harmed in the incident. Washington accepted the responsibility in that incident. The US military said the ship was en route to an Iranian port in violation of a naval blockade imposed by the war. That’s why the trade was attacked.
The Madagascar flagged merchant vessel is the MT Marivex. It was sailing from Karwar in Karnataka to Duqam in Oman. The ship was attacked on Monday afternoon off the coast of Oman, not far from the Strait of Hormuz. US troops fired at the merchant ship. The ship kept burning on the sea. The merchantman had 24 Indian sailors. They were rescued and taken to safety.
Within 24 hours of the incident, US Central Command issued a statement. It is said there, ‘At present, a naval blockade has been imposed on Hormuz due to the war. But the ship disobeyed the orders of the US military and proceeded towards Iran. After that, weapons were fired from the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln targeting the merchant ship. The U.S. Central Command also said it had grounded seven ships that violated rules since the blockade began on April 13. 134 compliant vessels were diverted and 42 humanitarian aid vessels were allowed to pass through Hormuz.
