6 lakhs were cheated by showing dream of petrol pump, had applied after seeing advertisement in newspaper

Prayagraj. The thugs defrauded a person named Ram Bharose Ram of Rs 6.39 lakh on the pretext of getting him a petrol pump. Online fraudsters got money transferred from their accounts at different times on the pretext of petrol pump allotment. Later the thugs even switched off the number and disappeared.

I applied after seeing an ad in the newspaper.

Seeing a news published in The Times of India on September 1, 2025, Ram Bharose had applied online for Kisan Seva Kendra (KSK) petrol pump. Just 24 hours after the application, he got a call and was told that a petrol pump had been approved in his name. Due to happiness, they got involved in the talks of the thugs.

Documents were ordered online, looting started again

The callers asked to send the documents online. Then they started depositing the amount in the name of various stages of fees, verification, license and NOC. Acting on trust, the victim transferred a total of Rs 6,39,890 to an account in the Central Bank of India on different dates.

Then I felt cheated

The victim said that all the mobile numbers through which he used to contact him are now switched off. After taking the money, the accused started avoiding meeting him. Only then did Ram Bharose understand that he had become a victim of fraud.

Number details are being extracted

As soon as he realized that he was cheated, he gave a written complaint to Dhumanganj police station and demanded action and registration of case against the accused. Dhumanganj police have registered a case and started investigation. Inspector in-charge Rajesh Upadhyay said that the details of the number used in the fraud are being obtained.
