PM Modi appeals to people to vote to strengthen democracy

Latest News :- Voting is going on today (25 September) at 7 am on 26 seats of the second phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Voting is taking place amid tight security. 239 candidates are contesting in this election, which includes prominent political leaders including former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, BJP state president Ravinder Raina, Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra. In this regard, Prime Minister Modi said on his X page, “I request the voters to cast their vote to make an important contribution in strengthening democracy. My best wishes to the first time voters.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has appealed to the people to come together and vote for a developed Jammu and Kashmir free from terrorism. Meanwhile, BJP National President JP Natta said, “Congratulations to the young voters. Your democratic commitment today will ensure service, governance and development in Kashmir. This will end corruption and end politics of nepotism. End statelessness and lay the seeds for a bright future for J&K,” he tweeted.

Elections in 2 constituencies: National Conference Party leader Omar Abdullah, who is contesting in this election, is contesting from two constituencies in Central Kashmir. One of them is Ganderpal constituency, which has been held by Abdullah's family for three generations. In Putgam, another constituency, he is contesting against Syed Muntazir Mehdi of the People's Democratic Party and Agha Syed Ahmed Moosavi of the Awami National Conference.

Election Interest: The Ministry of External Affairs has arranged for 20 representatives of 16 foreign organizations to monitor voting in Srinagar and Budgam constituencies in connection with today's elections in Kashmir. It is noteworthy that this group of ambassadors includes representatives of the United States, Russia and the European Union.
