From demolition to propaganda, bulldozers have become pan-party tool to draw crowds – LIVE HINDI KHABAR

Latest News :- Bulldozers, once machines for simple construction purposes, have now become a symbol of state power and politics and are omnipresent on the election campaign grounds of Haryana. Bulldozer has also become a thing which easily attracts people's attention. Even in the narrow streets of Nu district of Haryana, youth dancing on the bulldozer tank and showering leaflets on the crowd sitting below has become a common sight. Bulldozers may have earned a bad reputation in other areas. This is not the case in the most backward parliamentary constituency of Haryana. Bulldozers are being run on the mood in which people are celebrating the election celebrations here.

This celebratory atmosphere of bulldozers was a different scene five years ago. Six people died in violence during a religious procession in the Muslim-dominated Nu assembly constituency. After this a riot broke out there. The uproar gradually spread to nearby Gurugram. A Maulvi died in an attack on a mosque there. Following the violence, the BJP-led government in the state started demolishing houses of people involved in the Nu-Vil riots. This action was accused of ethnic cleansing. State Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had rejected it outright.

Subsequently, terms like 'bulldozer justice' and 'bulldozer politics' became propaganda weapons. Congress and BJP are using bulldozer machines extensively in this election. A Congress worker, requesting anonymity, said, “The use of bulldozers in election campaigns means that those who disturb communal harmony in the district will have to face strict action. We believe that the riots last year were caused by outsiders. Another Congress worker said, “The use of bulldozers is not just a fight to snatch power from the BJP. It also means the homes and livelihoods of many people were destroyed during last year's demolition. Bulldozers are crowd pullers.”

A BJP worker, on the condition of anonymity, said, “Last year only illegal buildings were demolished with bulldozers. There is nothing negative about using them in election campaign. Like other vehicles, bulldozers are also used in election campaign. “They attract a lot of people.”

The bulldozers have attracted not only men on the streets but also women watching the operation from behind the window bars of their homes. Sultana said, “It is still not common for women to participate in election rallies. We (women) can listen to the election campaign only through loudspeakers. If something different like this (bulldozer operation) happens, we can only see it from behind the windows.” Of Kanwarjika village of Nu.

Bulldozer first entered the electoral terminology in Uttar Pradesh. The prosecution felt that the bulldozing operation was a powerful exercise of government control over criminals and created a high profile on the government. But recently, “In a country where law is paramount, threatening to demolish houses is unacceptable. A house occupied by family members cannot be demolished just because a family member has violated the rules. The Supreme Court judges said, “If a house is involved in a crime, there is no basis for demolishing it.”

It was also seen here that the Supreme Court had ordered a ban on demolition of buildings by bulldozers under the Municipal Corporation Act till October 1. In this backdrop, bulldozers have become the center of attention in the Haryana constituency. Voting for Haryana Assembly will be held on October 5. Counting of votes will take place on October 8.
