Ingredients for making Khaman Dhokla
Gram flour – 2 cups
Curd – 1.5 cups
Mustard – 1 tsp
Green chillies (cut lengthwise) – 6-7
Curry leaves – 10-15
Green coriander chopped – 1 cup
Turmeric – 1 teaspoon
Sugar – 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 2 teaspoons
Baking Soda – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt- as per your taste
Know the method of making Khaman Dhokla
To make delicious Khaman Dhokla, first take a big bowl. – Sieve gram flour in the prescribed quantity in the bowl. Then after this add curd to gram flour and mix. Then add turmeric, 1 teaspoon oil, lemon juice and salt as per taste and mix well. – Make a smooth paste by adding water little by little. When this paste is ready, cover it and keep it aside for half an hour.
After keeping the paste aside for some time, keep it in a vessel to heat water. After this, add baking soda to the gram flour solution and beat it slowly. – After this take a vessel to make Dhokla. Apply oil inside the vessel with the help of a brush. Applying oil will prevent the gram flour batter from sticking to the pan. – Then after this, pour the gram flour solution in the vessel and cook in hot water steam for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, check with the help of a knife whether it is cooked or not. For this you will have to put the knife in the dhokla and see. If the knife comes out easily then understand that it is cooked. If it is left to cook, the gram flour will stick to the knife. If there is some problem in the khaman then it can be cooked in steam for 5-10 minutes. After this, turn off the gas and keep the Dhokla to cool.
When the Dhokal cools down, cut it into small pieces with the help of a knife. Now prepare its tadka, for this take a small fry pan and add 1 teaspoon oil in it and heat it. When the oil becomes hot, add mustard seeds and green chillies and fry them. Add one cup of water and sugar in this tempering. Cook it until the sugar dissolves. Now the tadka is ready. – Spread this tempering over the cut dhokla. Garnish Khaman Dhokla with green coriander leaves. Tasty and healthy Khaman Dhokla is ready to serve.
