When Rimi Sen’s career went downhill

At one point, Rimi was seen as a brighter prospect than newcomers like Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif and was far ahead of juniors like Deepika Padukone. However, by the end of the decade, her career took a turn and she was not offered good movies. Rimi was last seen in 2011’s Thank You and Shagird. Both failed to do well and since then, she hasn’t been in any movie. Sen was also seen in Bigg Boss 9 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9 in 2015.

In an interview with Navbharat Times, she realised she needed to earn money to stay afloat. She became a producer with the biopic Budhia Singh – Born To Run, which won two National Film Awards. Today, Rimi is still active in the film industry and also has a strong social media presence. She’s popular on Instagram with a million followers. Rimi also changed her name to Subhamitra Sen for her production venture. Reports suggest that her work as a producer flourished and she has an estimated net worth of Rs 80 crore, making her wealthier than many Bollywood actresses of this generation.
