Due to this plan of the government, people buying electric vehicles are in shock! This state announced exemption in road tax

Auto News Desk – The Karnataka government is preparing to take a big step to promote electric vehicles in the state. The government has proposed to reduce road tax and registration fees on hybrid cars, so that the sales of eco-friendly vehicles can increase. Along with this, a plan has also been made to encourage companies manufacturing electric vehicles, so that the state can be taken further in the field of clean mobility.

Proposal to cut hybrid and electric vehicles
Under this new policy of the Karnataka government, it is proposed to reduce the road tax on strong hybrid cars priced below Rs 25 lakh from the current 18 percent to 13 percent. However, this discount will be applicable only on strong hybrid cars and not on mild hybrid models. The policy is similar to the one announced by the Uttar Pradesh government earlier this year, where tax exemption was given on hybrid cars to encourage people to adopt eco-friendly vehicles.

Electric vehicle manufacturers will get special incentives
The government plans to provide several benefits not only to hybrid cars but also to manufacturers of electric vehicles. According to the proposal, companies that set up new factories in the state or expand existing factories will be given a 15 to 25 percent incentive on their land and machinery. This boost will also be applicable to companies manufacturing battery components and EV charging infrastructure. Besides, companies manufacturing electric vehicles will also be given a profit of up to 25 percent depending on their investment. This benefit will be decided according to the investment and employment opportunities given to the company.

Plan to promote clean and electric vehicles
This step of the Karnataka government is an important effort towards promoting clean and electric vehicles. The government's aim is that more and more people should adopt environment-friendly vehicles, which will reduce pollution. This proposal of the government will not be limited to electric vehicles only, but will also include vehicles running on other clean fuels like hybrid and hydrogen. However, no specific time period has been fixed to finalize this policy, but plans are being considered to implement it soon.
