Will TMKOC actress Palak Sindhwani quit the show after receiving legal notice?

New Delhi: Actress Palak Sindhwani, who plays the role of Sonu Bhide in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has received a legal notice from the production house of the show, Neela Telefilms. In the legal notice, the makers have accused the actress of breaching the contract.

The notice highlights several key provisions that are a part of Palak’s exclusivity artist agreement, which, as per the makers, she has breached causing harm to the character, the show and the production house. Now, Palak has replied to the production house’s legal notice and things don’t look nice for the makers.

What’s in the legal notice?

According to the Free Press Journal report, the legal notice outlines Palak Sindhwani’s unauthorised third-party endorsements and appearances without proper written permission from the makers as required as per her contract. As per the legal notice, the violations of the contract continued despite verbal and written warnings, infringing the exclusivity clause and “undermining the integrity” of her character and the show. Due to the above-mentioned reasons, makers were reportedly forced to take legal action.

Palak Sindhwani’s response to legal notice

In response to the legal notice by Taarak Mehta Kaa Ooltah Chashmah's production team, Palak Sindhwani has said that she will be quitting the show. However, the production house denies all allegations made by Palak and said that they plan to address the matter seriously. They are also seeking compensation for damages caused to the company and the show.

For the unversed, Palak replaced Nidhi Bhanushali as Sonu Bhide on the show four years ago. Meanwhile, several actors have quit the show over the years including Disha Vakani, Shailesh Lodha, Neha Mehta, Raj Anadkat, Jennifer Mistry, Bhavya Gandhi, and Gurucharan Singh, among others.
