Demand for leadership, communication skills doubles compared to AI/ML

New Delhi New Delhi: The demand for human skills such as leadership, communication and emotional intelligence is twice that of knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), a report on Wednesday found. The report, from workforce agility solutions manufacturer Cornerstone OnDemand, provides a comprehensive overview of growing skills demand, analysis of the past five years, and indicators for future trends and demand forecasting. The report notes that AI, ML job postings are on the rise – a 65 percent increase since 2019, and GenAI-related job postings have seen a 411 percent increase.

Yet, the demand for human skills, or soft skills such as leadership, communication and emotional intelligence, was found to exceed the need for digital skills globally. The report revealed that human skills were found to be in demand twice as much as digital skills. The report said communication, interpersonal collaboration and problem-solving were the top job postings related to human skills.
