Indira Ekadashi 2024: Ekadashi has special significance in Hindu religion. 24 Ekadashis are celebrated throughout the year, and each Ekadashi has its own significance. It is believed that by following all the rules on this day, a person gets an opportunity to atone for his sins. According to the Panchang, Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month is known as Indira Ekadashi.

When will Indira Ekadashi be celebrated?

According to the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi Tithi will start on Friday, September 27 at 1:20 pm and will end on Saturday, September 28 at 2:49 pm. According to the scriptures, whenever a date falls on Udaya Tithi, then a fast is observed on the same day. On this basis, Indira Ekadashi fast will be observed on 28th September.

Indira Ekadashi puja method

• On the day of Indira Ekadashi, take bath in the morning, wear clean clothes and take a pledge to fast. Remember your ancestors and pay tribute to them too.
• For worship, first of all install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a post and light a ghee lamp.
• Lord Vishnu loves yellow color very much, hence offer him yellow flowers and sweets. After this, offer other puja items also.
• Listen to the story of the fast and perform the aarti of Lord Vishnu.
