Crime Scene S5: Netflix gives a glimpse of the most-loved Korean variety mystery show

A brand-new season of the well-liked South Korean variety show Crime Scene is coming back on Netflix, featuring the fifth season of the show.

Netflix revealed on September 26, 2024, that the fifth season of the South Korean variety mystery show, is currently in development. The show will be made available on the platform as its original. According to a Netflix official, they are thrilled to bring the newest installment of Crime Scene, a program that has raised the bar for mystery variety shows. Fans may now watch the next show on the streaming platform in Korea and around the world.

Netflix confirms season 5 of variety show Crime Scene: Everything we know  so far

Crime Scene is Korea’s first mystery variety program that is based on role-playing games, with cast members and visitors taking on different roles in order to solve complex murder cases. But after a seven-year absence, the program returned to television in 2023 under the name Crime Scene Returns. Star-studded ensemble  Jang Jin, Park Ji Yoon, Jang Dong Min, Key from SHINee, Joo Hyun Young, and An Yujin from IVE were among the cast members.

The CEO of Studio Slam and the director of the previous seasons of Crime Scene, Yoon Hyun Joon, stated that the choice was taken to distribute the program to both Korean and international viewers.

Throughout its four seasons, the variety show has garnered praise from critics and won prizes including the top prize at the New York TV & Film Festival, the gold medal at the Houston International Film Festival, which ranks among North America’s top three film and video award shows, and the Best Entertainment Program at the Asian Television Awards.
