Even if Root gets close to Sachin, he will become a great cricketer: Bell

Former England cricketer Ian Bell has praised star batsman Joe Root. Bell said that even if Root does not reach Sachin Tendulkar's highest score of 15,921 Test runs, he will still become great. Root recently became the sixth batsman in the world to score the most runs, leaving behind Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara. Bell has come here for Legends League cricket. On this occasion he said that Root has played very well in the last one year. In such a situation, I don't think he is thinking much about the future.

He is living in the same moment as we are. He said, 'It is a big achievement to even come close to the greatest player like Sachin. We have grown up watching him play. He is a star not only for Indian cricket fans but also for people all over the world. Bell said, 'It is a big achievement to even think that Root can get close to Sachin. Whether he breaks Sachin's record or not, there is no doubt that he will be known as England's greatest batsman of all time.

Root is currently 33 years old and has scored 12402 runs in Test cricket. In this way, he is still 3519 runs behind Tendulkar's record. Bell feels that England's aggressive playing strategy has improved the talent of the current players. “As a fan you have to look at the results,” he said. Ever since Brendon McCullum became the coach and Ben Stokes became the captain, the team has got better results.
