Former Fenerbahce, Anderlecht player Serhat Akin shot in Istanbul

Serhat Akin, a retired national football player and current football commentator, was shot and wounded in Istanbul’s Beykoz district on Wednesday evening, local authorities reported.

The incident occurred in the Kavacik neighborhood on Şehit Tegmen Ali Yılmaz Street, where Akin was targeted by an unidentified assailant or assailants. The former footballer sustained injuries to his leg during the attack.

Emergency services promptly transported Akin to a private hospital in Atasehir for medical treatment. Hospital sources later confirmed that his condition was stable and not life-threatening.
