Rishabh returns to top ten in ICC batting rankings

Indian cricket team's aggressive wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has once again reached the top ten in the ICC Test batting rankings. Rishabh has got the benefit of scoring a century in the first cricket test match against Bangladesh and that is why he has come up in the rankings. Due to his excellent performance in the Test match played against Bangladesh in Chennai, he received 731 rating points and has reached sixth position in the Test batting rankings.

India's Yashasvi Jaiswal is also at fifth position with 751 points. Whereas Indian captain Rohit Sharma has suffered a loss in ranking. He has slipped five places to tenth place with 716 points. On the other hand, in the bowling rankings, Sri Lanka's Prabhat Jayasuriya has achieved a better ranking due to his good performance against New Zealand. Jayasuriya took 9 wickets and moved up five places to eighth in the Test bowling rankings with 743 rating points. Asitha Fernando of Sri Lanka has slipped to 13th place.


On the other hand, in ODI cricket, Rahmanullah Gurbaz of Afghanistan jumped 10 places and reached eighth position. Gurbaz scored his seventh century even before the age of 23. With this, he became the first player from Afghanistan to break into the top 10 in the ICC men's ODI batting rankings. Gurbaz thus overtook Australia's Travis Head, who had scored an unbeaten 154 against England. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan moved up 8 places to third place in the ODI bowling rankings after taking 7 wickets against South Africa.
