New Delhi: In the current scenario, India are currently taking on Bangladesh in the second Test of the two-match series at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. It’s quite obvious that Rohit Sharma and his men will be looking to secure a win in the match to pack a whitewash series victory against Bangladesh. So, talking about creating history even before the first ball of the match was bowled, India skipper Rohit Sharma became the first skipper after 60 years to make a big decision.

Rohit Sharma becomes the first skipper in 60 years to take THIS big decision:

Talking about the match before the ball was bowled, it was India who won the toss and opted to bowl first, on a pitch where many experts predicted that he should have batted first. Rohit Sharma now becomes the first captain in 60 years to win the toss and elect to bat first at Kanpur. The last skipper to do so was India captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi way back in 1964 during a Test match against England.

On the other hand, this was the first time in nine years that India has opted to field after winning the toss in a Test match at home. The last time that they did this was against South Africa in 2015 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Ravichandran Ashwin heroics:

Ravichandran Ashwin is going from strength to strength in the ongoing two-match Test series against Bangladesh. On Day 1 of the 2nd Test against Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, Ashwin set a new landmark with the wicket Bangla skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto.

The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder also moved into 2nd position on the table with bowlers who have claimed the most wickets in Asia. Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan leads the way with 612 out of his 800 wickets coming in Asia.
