Latest News :- Chief Minister M.K. Stalin congratulated the players of Tamil Nadu who won gold medals in the Chess Olympiad by giving them a prize of Rs 90 lakh. In this regard, the Government of Tamil Nadu issued a press release: The Government of Tamil Nadu organized the 44th Chess Olympiad in 2022 to create awareness about Chess among the public and students across Tamil Nadu. Apart from this, the Government of Tamil Nadu is also giving high incentives to the athletes from Tamil Nadu who win international competitions.

In such a situation, Tamil Nadu's Chess Grandmasters Gukesh, Praggnananda and Vaishali won gold medals in both men's and women's categories in the 45th Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary. Yesterday, Chief Minister Stalin presented checks of Rs 25 lakh each and Rs 15 lakh, totaling Rs 90 lakh, to team leader Srinath Narayanan. He asked the players to win and make themselves proud in the upcoming Global Chess League. Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Department Secretary Adulya Mishra, Tamil Nadu Agriculture and Sports Development Commission Member Secretary J.Meganatha Reddy and others were present at the event.
