Army brought out injured Indian soldier in Israel, Havildar Suresh R reached Delhi by air ambulance

New Delhi : An Indian Army team led by a doctor has evacuated an injured Indian Army soldier from the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) Golan Heights by C130 air ambulance and ensured better treatment. In this operation to evacuate the injured soldier in Israel, two trained paramedics cooperated with Lieutenant Colonel Anuj Singh of Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. Then the Tikal Care Air Evacuation Medical Team brought the soldier to the Army Hospital in New Delhi and started treatment.

The mission involved coordination with the Indian Air Force, Ministry of External Affairs and other agencies. The Indian Army said the rescue operation not only ensured that the injured soldier was brought to India amid extremely critical conditions. State-of-the-art critical care support is also provided en route.

The injured soldier is Havildar Suresh R, 33, who was transferred to the Level 1 hospital in the CZ (on the Israeli side) on September 20. He was not feeling well there and his condition was deteriorating. He was treated at Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Israel, from August 22 to September 20. He was treated there for about 30 days. It is being told that along with his head injury, he has wounds at many places, due to which there is bleeding. At present his condition is stable and he has been brought to India for better treatment.

The air ambulance took off from Tel Aviv at 1.20 am carrying Havildar Suresh R and reached Jamnagar at 10 am. After this, he was taken to Palam Airport in Delhi and shifted to Army Hospital R&R in New Delhi via ambulance at 3 pm on 26 September 2024.
