These days, along with the scriptures, he is learning the tricks of self-defense. Regularly they are being given training in Karate and Taekwondo. This has started in the religious city of Kashi where Batuk Veda students are being given training for self-defense.

The tradition of Varanasi Sanatan culture is still seen in the monasteries where Hindu children are given knowledge of Vedas and Sanskrit. They are equipped with mantras who later become story tellers, worshipers, priests, religious leaders, priests but in the Kailash Puri Math of Varanasi, a glimpse of the new tradition along with the scriptures was seen. Wearing dhoti and sacred thread, these students first meditate, awaken themselves by chanting mantras and then learn self-defense skills like karate and taekwondo.
