Life support Guideline:A new guideline related to life support i.e. euthanasia has been issued by the Union Health Ministry of India. According to this, life support of patients suffering from any major disease can be removed under certain conditions. Although the conditions regarding this are being taken care of, but if the estimates are to be believed, the arrival of these guidelines may increase the stress on the doctors because this process will come under the ambit of all laws.

Life support guidelines on these conditions

According to the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry, four conditions have been mentioned under which life support can be removed. Let us know what those conditions are

1- The first condition is that the patient has been declared brain dead, who will no longer be alive in any way.
2- The second condition is that the investigation should reveal that the patient's disease has reached advanced stage and in this situation there will be no benefit of treatment.
3- The third condition is that there is a refusal from the patient or family members to continue life support.
4- The fourth and last condition is that the process of removing life support should be done as per the guidelines set by the Supreme Court.

Rules are necessary in case of this disease

Along with issuing guidelines for life support, a rare terminal disease has also been mentioned. This disease is such that the patient often has no chance of survival. Brain injury is also included in this disease. According to the new guidelines, many patients in ICU are terminally ill for whom life sustaining treatment is unlikely to provide any benefit. In this case life support can be removed.

Although this process will become legal, the maximum stress in this matter may fall on the doctors, Dr. R.V. Ashokan, President of the Indian Medical Association, said about this. Apart from this, the doctors do the process of removing life support from the patient after discussing it with the patient's family and every aspect is examined for this.
