Naxalite Ramdayal Mahato alias Bachchan Da, the top leader of the militant organization CPI Maoist and an impersonator of Rs 10 lakh, has returned to the mainstream. This 70-year-old Naxalite carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh, Bachchan, has surrendered after being impressed by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of Jharkhand government, Nayi Disha-Ek Nayi Initiative. Police officials said that Ramdayal has been involved in many Naxalite incidents in Jharkhand-Bihar. He played an important role in blowing up the artillery station and looting about 07-08 weapons including SLR. Currently, under his leadership, in the year 2022, Aslam Ansari, the deputy head of Taliabahiyar village of Dumri police station, was declared a police informer and shot dead. Ramdayal Mahato is wanted in almost 54 cases in Giridih district and 11 in Dhanbad district. He has a very long criminal history in the state of Jharkhand.

DIG said that their surrender will inspire other militants to surrender and they will also make efforts towards surrendering. Since they have been serving in the zonal committee of the Naxalite organization, their surrender will significantly reduce the Naxalite incidents and will reduce the morale of the Naxalites in the areas like Giridih, Bokaro and Dhanbad as well as in the entire Jharkhand.
