You must have heard many benefits, now know the disadvantages of coconut oil…

New Delhi:- Whether coconut is eaten or applied, both ways are beneficial for the body. People use everything from coconut water to coconut oil extensively to keep themselves healthy. It is full of moisturizing properties. Apart from this, saturated fats and many amino acids are found in abundance in it. Due to this quality of coconut oil, coconut oil is widely used in skin products. Apart from this, coconut oil has many properties which can harm your skin. Therefore, before using coconut oil, you should know about its disadvantages.

Dr. Amit Kumar, founder of Shatayu Ayurveda and Panchakarma Center in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, explained in detail about coconut oil. Doctor Amit says that due to the anti-bacterial and antifungal properties of coconut oil, it is very important for the skin. Many fatty acids present in coconut oil, such as lauric acid and capric acid, are very effective in keeping our skin healthy. Coconut oil has properties to prevent diseases from developing. Meaning it kills the harmful microorganisms growing on our skin.

Harm to the skin: Apart from this, coconut oil eliminates skin infections like acne, folliculitis and cellulitis, fungus and bacteria and makes our skin clean and glowing by the lauric and capric acid present in coconut oil. Doctors also warn about this. According to him, “Despite coconut oil having so many properties, it contains some factors which are harmful for our skin. Coconut oil is quite heavy. Due to which many times wrinkles and lines appear on the face due to its excessive use in beauty products. Therefore, excessive use of coconut oil on the body, especially the face, should be avoided. Also, sometimes the use of coconut oil causes allergy on our skin.

Allergy after applying coconut oil on face! Yes, doctors also tell the reason for this. It is said that the reason for this is that the trans fat present in coconut oil creates a layer barrier on the face, due to which moisture almost stops from going inside our skin. Our skin starts becoming dry from inside. Therefore, it is important that we limit the use of coconut oil after identifying our skin type.

However, if coconut product is to be used then another method can be adopted. And that is face pack. It is said, if you are facing such problems then it would be better for you to use coconut oil as a face pack. Also, you have to take special care that if your skin is already oily then you should not apply coconut oil on your face overnight.

Dr. Amit also considers the use of coconut oil as a major reason for the occurrence of pimples on the face. He says that due to coconut oil being heavy and also containing trans fat in it, it is comedogenic. Due to which it closes the skin pores of our skin. Due to which pimples start appearing on our face. For people with sensitive and oily skin, use of coconut oil can cause more harm than good. Oil production increases in the skin of such people due to which a lot of pimples appear on the face.
