Plot

An alternate reality, to the Taisho era in Japan, spirits and magic are real, and they exist, though on the scale of a sharp decline. Miyo Saimori was born with supernatural talent, but her only predicament came with how her life came to be.

Born from the arrangements of a pre-planned marriage, her worth in her father’s life is dismissed after her mother’s death. Her father’s remarriage brings into the home, a stepmother and a half-sister, Kaya, who takes all the spotlight.

Miyo is reduced to a lowly servant and lives her days in misery until she turns of marriageable age. Her hopes of moving to a better place and starting life anew are shattered when she hears of the man she is to marry.

She is to marry Kiyoka Kudou, the head of the distinguished Kudou family. Despite his noble background, Kiyoka is known to be a callous man who has thus far dismissed all of his former fiancées.

Everything takes a turn, when the man behaves completely differently from how he’s rumored to be, and treats her with the utmost kindness, perhaps marrying Kiyoka is the only way Miyo has, to get out of her abusive life at home.
