Latehar: A case of ragging has come to light in the state's prestigious Netarhat Residential School. On Sunday, a Class 7 student of the school, fed up with ragging and fighting, drank phenyl. After this, the school management immediately admitted the student to the local hospital, from where he was referred to Sadar Hospital.

The victim student is undergoing treatment in Sadar Hospital. The treated student told the journalists that he is a Class-7 student of Netarhat School and two Class-8 students had been beating him. The victim student told that he also complained about this to the in-charge of his ashram but no action was taken. He was also beaten up on Sunday morning and after getting fed up, he drank the phenyl kept in the bathroom in the morning. The victim student told that incidents of ragging have been happening inside the school, two students of his class were left in the school. Even after complaint the school management does not take any action.

When school principal Santosh Kumar was asked for information about ragging in the school, he denied any such incident. He said that the student has been admitted to the hospital due to sudden deterioration in his health. Even before this the student's health had deteriorated.
