Delhi Premier League: Both big matches in DPL were drawn

In the DSA Premier League, both the matches played at Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday were draws. In the first thrilling match, Friends United snatched important points from Indian Air Force by playing a 2-2 draw.

Friends United's goals were scored by Maheep and Ajay. Air Force goals were named after Zeeshan and Samuel. In the second match of the day, an excellent match was played between two renowned football academies. In the match played between Sudeva FC and Delhi FC, exciting football was definitely seen but neither team was able to score a goal.


Sudeva had the upper hand but DFC goalkeeper Devnath made beautiful saves on two attempts from Jajo Prashan and man of the match Kamjinsi. Even though no goals were seen, the class of the younger players was worth watching.

For Friends United, Maheep Adhikari gave his team the lead by scoring a goal in the fifth minute but after ten minutes, Zishan settled the score by scoring a goal. In the 49th minute, due to a scuffle, captain Ajay Singh scored a goal to put Friends ahead again. But once again the Air Force flew strongly and divided the points with a goal by man of the match Samuel Venlal Peka a minute before the long whistle. The match was full of ups and downs but except for the last quarter, Friends United dominated the rest of the time. Still, despite taking the lead twice, he had to settle for a draw. The Air Force, as per its identity, was successful in improving in the last minutes.
