ICC Test Batsmen Rankings: Pant overtakes Kohli, Jaiswal tops Indian players

Delhi: Indian cricket team's star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has got the lead in the latest Test rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Pant performed brilliantly in the Test played against New Zealand in Bengaluru, due to which he has now reached the sixth position and has left behind the great batsman Virat Kohli.

Pant, who scored 20 and 99 runs respectively in this Test match, is now the second-best ranked player among Indian batsmen. At present, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is in fourth place, is slightly ahead of him. Pant has gained three places in his ranking and achieved 745 rating points.

Jaiswal, who remains at fourth position with 780 rating points, has moved higher in the rankings due to his consistent good performances. At the same time, Kohli has lost one place, due to which he has now slipped to eighth place and has 720 rating points in his account.

At the top of the ranking is England's Joe Root, who has 917 rating points. After him, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson (821) and England's Harry Brook (803) are at second and third place respectively.
