Yogi and Modi’s game plan gave massive victory to BJP in Maharashtra, these are the 5 biggest reasons – ..
Maharashtra election results: Along with Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Bantenge to Katenge’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Hai To Saaf Hai’ slogan seems to be a hit in Maharashtra Assembly elections and UP by-elections. In the results of Maharashtra Assembly elections, the storm of BJP led NDA alliance seems to be blowing. Out of 288 seats in Maharashtra, BJP’s Mahayuti alliance seems to be getting more than 200 seats. In this way, BJP seems to get at least 7 seats in the by-elections to be held on 9 assembly seats of UP. Polarization is believed to be a major reason for this victory. Let us understand…
BJP has become alert after the victory of Mahavikas Aghadi in Lok Sabha elections.
There are 48 seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. In this election, Mahavikas Aghadi got 30 seats and Mahayuti alliance got 17 seats. That means ten times the number of people expressed their preference towards Mahavikas Aghadi. After this BJP and Sangh changed their strategy. Both of them bet very carefully on Yogi and Modi.
This was BJP’s position in the 2019 assembly elections.
If we look at the figures of the assembly elections held in 2019, BJP had won 105 seats, Shiv Sena (undivided Shiv Sena) had won 56 seats, NCP (undivided NCP) had won 54 seats and Congress had won 44 seats. After which Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress together formed the government. However, this alliance could not run the government for long.
Shiv Sena and Pawar faction also join the grand alliance
In June 2022, Eknath Shinde broke away from a faction of Shiv Sena due to internal dispute of Shiv Sena. Ajit Pawar had also brought a team of NCP with him. After this he joined Eknath Shinde’s BJP and Shiv Sena government and became Deputy Chief Minister. Played an important role in swaying NCP voters towards Mahayuti. Along with this, Shinde was also successful in connecting Shiv Sena voters with Mahayuti.
Maratha factor and unemployment issue did not work
The issue of Maratha factor and unemployment in Maharashtra was not in favor of Mahavikas Aghadi. However, polarization of votes left these issues far behind. At the same time, Mahayuti needs to bring forward the issue like Hindutva which has been strong in the entire country. As Mahayutin had expected, the slogan of Yogi and Modi worked.
Yogi’s slogan worked in Maharashtra, played a big bet
Yogi Adityanath raised this slogan in Haryana, which led to BJP’s victory. However, when BJP put up Yogi’s ‘Batange to Katenge’ banners in Maharashtra, there was a strong reaction because the kind of Hindutva that is prevalent in Uttar Pradesh or Haryana is not prevalent in Maharashtra. But, after the results it has become clear that a period of polarization has started in the politics of Maharashtra also.
Congress’s move to save the Constitution did not work
In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress raised the slogan of saving the Constitution. This narrow work was done especially in the Lok Sabha constituencies of UP. This was a bigger narrative which did not play out in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The situation there is not the same as it was against the central government. Congress’s claim of Maratha reservation also did not work.
RSS also handled the front carefully
It is believed that RSS has maintained its lead in Maharashtra elections. Like Haryana, RSS people were active here also. The reason for BJP’s poor performance in UP in the Lok Sabha elections was considered to be the Sangh’s distance from the elections. But, when BJP lost many seats in UP, the Sangh people were again fielded in the elections.
Ladli Behan Yojana also played an important role
After the ‘Ladli Behan Yojana’ of the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh, the Mahayuti government of Maharashtra also started the ‘Chief Minister-Meri Laadli Behan Yojana’ in June this year. Under this scheme, eligible women are given Rs 1500 per month. It is believed that this factor also played a big role in BJP’s landslide victory.
Congress’s issue of unemployment also turned out to be useless
In the Maharashtra elections, Congress, part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP were cornering the state government on issues like inflation and unemployment. In such a situation, the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi is hopeful that they will get public support in the elections. But, the results were opposite. Nor was there an issue of guarantee of MSP of soybean in Maharashtra.
