A big record was made in Perth's Optus Stadium for the second day, this ground is becoming the best in terms of spectators in Tests.

sports desk : The second day of the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth was in India's name. A record number of spectators arrived to watch this test match for the second consecutive day. The Indian team performed brilliantly on the second day. The batsmen kept the Indian team on the front foot.

On the first day of this test match, 17 wickets had fallen in scoring 217 runs. All the wickets were taken by fast bowlers. The Indian team was reduced to 150 runs. Australia had also lost seven wickets. On the second day, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored unbeaten 90 and KL Rahul scored unbeaten 62 runs, putting the Indian team in a strong position. Both of them made a partnership of 172 runs for the first wicket on the second day. With this the Indian team has taken a lead of 218 runs.

On the first day, 31,302 spectators enjoyed the match in the ground. The number of viewers increased to 63,670 in two days of this test. There are still three days left in this match. To surpass the record of highest viewership, 39,771 viewers are needed in the next three days.

During India's tour in 2018–19, Optus Stadium hosted Test cricket in place of the WACA Ground in Perth. In which the second test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy was played. Since then this stadium has hosted five test matches so far. Which also includes the test which started from today. The total attendance at the stadium, which has a capacity of 60,000 spectators, is expected to exceed 80,000 in the next four days. Perth's previous record was 103,440 spectators in the December 2006 Ashes Test.
