'The Sabarmati Report' star cast met Amit Shah, the film will be tax free in the 5th BJP ruled state!

New Delhi: The film 'The Sabarmati Report', made on the Godhra riots of Gujarat, is in the headlines these days. Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah met the star cast of the film in Delhi. Which includes lead actor Vikrant Massey, director Ekta Kapoor and Raashi Khanna. Let us tell you that till now this film has become tax free in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The special thing is that all the states which have made The Sabarmati tax free, have BJP governments.

It has a special connection with BJP, because the Godhra riots on which this film is based. Questions have been raised on the role of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi during that riot. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had praised The Sabarmati by sharing its trailer on social media. It was written along with it that the truth finally comes out.

Let us tell you that it is based on the incident of fire in S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express near Godhra station in Gujarat on February 27, 2002. At least 59 Hindu devotees returning from Ayodhya were burnt to death in the incident, which later led to riots in the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah can be seen interacting with Ekta R Kapoor, Vikrant Massey and others. While sharing the picture of this meeting on social media, the Home Minister wrote that he met the team of 'The Sabarmati Report' and congratulated them for their courage in bringing out the truth.
“This film exposes lies and misleading facts and brings out the truth that was suppressed for a long time to serve political interests.”

Meanwhile, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently attended the screening of the film at the 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) going on in Goa. After watching the film on Thursday, Sawant sent his best wishes to Ekta R Kapoor and the entire team of 'The Sabarmati Report' through a phone call by producer Mahavir Jain. “I really liked this movie…it's very good. You have presented the film correctly. Many congratulations,” the CM said while speaking to Ekta Kapoor yesterday. The Goa Chief Minister further said that he is considering giving tax-free status to films in the state.
