LaLiga 2024/25 matchday 15 predicted lineups
After a busy week in Europe, we head straight into another weekend of Spanish top flight action which kicks off with Valencia trying to build on a key win last time out. There are a couple of big games in the race for European places, with Villarreal entertaining Girona, while Real Sociedad host Betis. Here are our LaLiga predicted lineups for matchday 15, featuring all the clubs in action this weekend.
LaLiga predicted lineups – Matchday 15
Friday 29th November 2024
21:00 – Mallorca vs Valencia
Mallorca won 3-2 at Las Palmas last time out, but striker Vedat Muriqi was sent off late in that game, so Jagoba Arrasate will be forced into at least one change here, with Cyle Larin likely to come in up front. Pablo Maffeo is also available again and may return at right-back, in what could be the only other alteration.
Mallorca predicted lineup: Greif – Mojica, Raillo, Valjent, Maffeo – Samu Costa, Morlanes – Dani Rodriguez, Darder, Navarro – Larin (4-2-3-1)
Valencia’s first game in four weeks saw Los Che stun Betis 4-2 to climb off the bottom of LaLiga. Ruben Baraja could simply name the same eleven in this game, although key midfielder Pepelu is available following a ban which suggests either Javi Guerra or Enzo Barrenechea may drop out.
Valencia predicted lineup: Mamardashvili – Gasiorowski, Tarrega, Mosquera – Gaya, Pepelu, Barrenechea, Foulquier – Rioja, Diego Lopez – Duro (3-4-2-1)
Saturday 30th November 2024
14:00 – Barcelona vs Las Palmas
Lamine Yamal wasn’t ready to play any part in midweek in the Champions League, but is expected to be part of the matchday squad on Saturday. Whether that’s as a starter or off the bench is uncertain, while Hansi Flick also has a doubt over Iñigo Martinez which could see Eric Garcia get a rare chance in central defence. Marc Casado is suspended, so we could see Frenkie de Jong or Gavi, or potentially both, come into the midfield. Alejandro Balde may also return at left-back, after Gerard Martin started the last two matches.
Barcelona predicted lineup: Peña – Balde, Eric Garcia, Cubarsi, Kounde – De Jong, Pedri – Olmo, Gavi, Raphinha – Lewandowski (4-2-3-1)
Diego Martinez is expecting to have a full squad to pick from this weekend. He has been fairly consistent with his selection since taking over as Las Palmas boss last month, but defeat last time out could get him thinking about minor changes. Javi Muñoz and Jose Campaña appear to be in a close battle for one of the midfield slots, while young defender Mika Marmol will also be hoping for a recall having fallen out of favour under the new regime.
Las Palmas predicted lineup: Cillessen – Alex Muñoz, McKenna, Suarez, Rozada – Javi Muñoz, Essugo – Moleiro, Kirian, Sandro – Fabio Silva (4-2-3-1)
16:15 – Alaves vs Leganes
It’s seven defeats in eight league games for Alaves, but they did lead for more than 70 minutes away to Atletico Madrid last weekend. Luis Garcia would have been pretty happy with that performance, so we may not necessarily see major changes here. Manu Sanchez is suspended though, so Moussa Diarra will fill in at left-back. There are one or two positions that remain up for grabs though, including the left wing and striker roles, with Kike Garcia currently getting the nod over Toni Martinez in the latter.
Alaves predicted lineup: Sivera – Diarra, Mourino, Abqar, Tenaglia – Blanco, Guevara – Carlos Martin, Guridi, Vicente – Kike Garcia (4-2-3-1)
Enric Franquesa, who has torn his ACL, is expected to be the only absentee for Leganes who were a distant second best against Real Madrid last weekend. This is a very different type of game against a direct relegation rival and Borja Jimenez could make some changes. Renato Tapia is available again and likely to regain his place, either in midfield or defence. Valentin Rosier and Sebastien Haller are also pushing for a recall.
Leganes predicted lineup: Dmitrovic – Javi Hernandez, Nastasic, Sergio, Rosier – Neyou, Tapia, Brasanac – Diaz, Haller, Munir (4-3-3)
18:30 – Espanyol vs Celta Vigo
Espanyol have been at least two down by the break in all of their last four league games, so Manolo has to be thinking about changes here, particularly following a capitulation at Girona last time out. Walid Cheddira is an alternative option in attack, while Marash Kumbulla is likely to return in defence, with Sergio Gomez expected to drop out.
Espanyol predicted lineup: Joan Garcia – Olivan, Cabrera, Kumbulla, El Hilali – Carreras, Kral, Lozano, Cardona – Puado, Cheddira (4-4-2)
Celta came from two down to take a point off Barcelona last time out. Substitute Alfonso Gonzalez struck to spark that late comeback, but that may not be enough to earn him a start on Saturday. Borja Iglesias stands a good chance of coming back in to face his former club, but we’ve seen a bit more consistency from Claudio Giraldez otherwise in recent weeks, suggesting it may be a similar eleven again.
Celta Vigo predicted lineup: Guaita – Alonso, Starfelt, Javi Rodriguez – Hugo Alvarez, Beltran, Ilaix, Mingueza – Bamba, Aspas – Iglesias (3-4-2-1)
21:00 – Real Valladolid vs Atletico Madrid
These are worrying times for Real Valladolid who are bottom of the table, with the worst defensive record and joint worst goalscoring record. Paulo Pezzolano is fighting for his job and he has a full squad to pick from here. He may opt for the odd change to freshen things up, with Eray Comert and Juanmi Latasa both pushing for a start.
Real Valladolid predicted lineup: Hein – Rosa, Ozkacar, Comert, Sanchez, L. Perez – Anuar, K. Perez, Juric – Moro, Latasa (5-3-2)
Atletico Madrid ran riot in midweek, winning 6-0 at Sparta Prague in the Champions League. Koke and Antoine Griezmann were only on the bench in the Czech capital, but are likely to rotate back in here. Samuel Lino could also return, but Diego Simeone may keep faith with the most of the starters from that game, with only Copa del Rey action against minnows Cacereño this coming week.
Atletico Madrid predicted lineup: Oblak – Galan, Lenglet, Gimenez, Llorente – Lino, Barrios, Koke, Simeone – Griezmann, Alvarez (4-4-2)
Sunday 1st December 2024
14:00 – Villarreal vs Girona
Marcelino is missing seven due to injury, but it was a similar situation last weekend when they came from behind to draw 2-2 at Osasuna. The fit again Gerard Moreno came off the bench to net a late penalty to level that game, but the Villarreal boss has suggested that he may not necessarily return to the starting eleven, despite the absence of top scorer Ayoze Perez. Kiko Femenia is fit again after a minor issue and should start at right-back. Pape Gueye is also available and could return in midfield.
Villarreal predicted lineup: Conde – Cardona, Costa, Albiol, Femenia – Gueye, Parejo, Comesaña – Baena, Barry, Yeremi Pino (4-3-3)
Michel was missing half of his squad only a few weeks ago, but all of those injuries have now cleared up, with the exception of Yangel Herrera and Gabriel Misehouy. A number of changes are expected from the eleven that slumped to a 1-0 defeat in Austria against Sturm Graz on Wednesday. Arnau Martinez and David Lopez could return in defence, while there’s plenty of competition for the attacking roles now, with the likes of Yaser Asprilla, Abel Ruiz and Arnaut Danjuma hoping to break into the starting lineup on Sunday.
Girona predicted lineup: Gazzaniga – Miguel Gutierrez, Blind, David Lopez, Arnau Martinez – Romeu, Martin – Gil, Van de Beek, Danjuma – Miovski (4-2-3-1)
16:15 – Real Madrid vs Getafe
Following defeat at Anfield and with a tough trip to Bilbao to come on Wednesday in LaLiga, Carlo Ancelotti is likely to rotate where possible here, although his options are limited by injuries. Endrick, Lucas Vazquez, Dani Ceballos and Fran Garcia were all used off the bench in Liverpool and could potentially all rotate in. Aurelien Tchouameni remains a doubt, but could take Raul Asencio’s place in defence, or operate as the holding midfielder, if passed fit.
Real Madrid predicted lineup: Courtois – Fran Garcia, Asencio, Rudiger, Vazquez – Bellingham, Valverde, Ceballos – Guler – Mbappe, Endrick (4-3-1-2)
With Bertug Yildirim suspended and Borja Mayoral injured, Alvaro Rodriguez is likely to start up front against his parent club for Getafe. Djene is also banned, so Pepe Bordalas may bring Domingos Duarte into the defence for the short trip to the Bernabeu. We could also see Allan Nyom shift into a wide midfield role, with a defensive gameplan expected.
Getafe predicted lineup: Soria – Rico, Alderete, Duarte, Iglesias – Sola, Arambarri, Milla, Nyom – Uche – Alvaro Rodriguez (4-4-1-1)
18:30 – Rayo Vallecano vs Athletic Club
Unai Lopez’s red card in Seville, will force Iñigo Perez into at least once change here, with Isi Palazon likely to return to the starting lineup. Perez must also decide whether to stick with Randy Nteka up top, with a recall for Sergio Camello perhaps more likely. Neither Raul De Tomas nor James Rodriguez got off the bench in the defeat at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, with both seemingly some way from the first eleven right now.
Rayo Vallecano predicted lineup: Battle – Chavarria, Mumin, Lejeune, Ratiu – Gumbau, Valentin – Alvaro Garcia, Isi Palazon, De Frutos – Camello (4-2-3-1)
Unai Simon made his long awaited return from injury in the Europa League on Thursday. Ernesto Valverde will surely look to use both of his goalkeepers over the coming months which will serve up a lot of football, and it may well be that Julen Agirrezabala returns to the lineup on Sunday. It was a very strong Athletic XI that started the 3-0 win against Elfsborg, but we should see some rotation here, with a midweek game against Real Madrid to come. That may include Alvaro Djalo getting a chance up top, while Oscar De Marcos, Mikel Jauregizar and Yeray Alvarez may also all come in, after not featuring against the Swedes.
Athletic Club predicted lineup: Agirrezabala – Boiro, Yeray, Vivian, De Marcos – Jauregizar, Ruiz de Galarreta – Nico Williams, Sancet, Iñaki Williams – Djalo (4-2-3-1)
21:00 – Real Sociedad vs Real Betis
Imanol went quite strong and Real Sociedad beat Ajax 2-0 in the Europa League on Thursday. Back at the Reale Arena three days on, the most obvious changes are at full-back where either Javi Lopez or Sergio Gomez on the left, and Jon Aramburu on the right, should return. Ander Barrenetxea is also pushing for a start, with Sheraldo Becker potentially rotating out.
Real Sociedad predicted lineup: Remiro – Sergio Gomez, Aguerd, Zubeldia, Aramburu – Brais Mendez, Zubimendi, Sucic – Barrenetxea, Oyarzabal, Kubo (4-3-3)
Betis are dealing with a midfield injury crisis right now with Johnny Cardoso, William Carvalho, Pablo Fornals, Marc Roca and Isco all out. That leaves Manuel Pellegrini really short in the centre of the pitch and he may need to turn to the B team and either Carlos Guirao or Mateo Flores for a starter here. Rui Silva, Youssouf Sabaly, Marc Bartra and Romain Perraud should return at the back following Thursday’s Conference League defeat against Mlada Boleslav.
Real Betis predicted lineup: Silva – Perraud, Bartra, Llorente, Sabaly – Altimira, Flores – Abde Ez, Lo Celso, Ruibal – Roque (4-2-3-1)
Monday 2nd December 2024
21:00 – Sevilla vs Osasuna
Sevilla were winners last time out without playing brilliantly against Rayo Vallecano, and Garcia Pimienta isn’t expected to rock the boat too much here in terms of his team selection. It’s unclear whether Orjan Nyland will recover quickly enough to start in goal. If he doesn’t make it, an unchanged eleven is very possible, with Chidera Ejuke and Tanguy Nianzou the only other injury absentees right now. Atleti loanee Saul is fit again, but is not expected to start just yet.
Sevilla predicted lineup: Fernandez – Pedrosa, Salas, Bade, Carmona – Gudelj, Lokonga, Sow – Peque, Romero, Lukebakio (4-3-3)
The suspended Lucas Torro is the only player that Osasuna are expected to be missing on Monday night in Seville. Iker Muñoz is most likely to take his place. Otherwise, it could be the same players that started the 2-2 draw with Villarreal, although Ruben Garcia and Ruben Peña are involved in a close fight for one place on the right flank, while Abel Bretones is also pushing Juan Cruz hard at left-back.
Osasuna predicted lineup: Herrera – Cruz, Boyomo, Catena, Areso – Iker Muñoz, Moncayola – Bryan Zaragoza, Oroz, Ruben Garcia – Budimir (4-2-3-1)
