Russian Defense Minister reached North Korea to increase tension between South Korea and Ukraine, leaders of both the countries talked on these special issues

Seoul: Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov arrived in North Korea on Friday for talks with military and political leaders. According to the ministry, Russian news agency 'Tass', in its news quoting the ministry, did not, however, say who Belousov would meet or what was the purpose of the talks. North Korean state media did not immediately confirm the visit.

Belousov, a former economist, replaced Sergei Shoigu as defense minister after Russian President Vladimir Putin began his fifth term in power in May. Belousov's visit comes days after South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol met a Ukrainian delegation led by Defense Minister Rustam Umarov.

These claims regarding North Korea

In this meeting, Yeol called on both countries to prepare for retaliatory measures in response to North Korea sending thousands of troops to Russia to aid in the war against Ukraine. The US and its allies say North Korea has sent more than 10,000 troops to Russia in recent weeks and some of those troops have already joined the war.

South Korea expressed concern

North Korea is also accused of supplying weapons systems, missiles and other military equipment to Russia, which could help Russian President Vladimir Putin further escalate the nearly three-year-long war. Concerns were also raised in South Korea that North Korea could receive technology transfers from Russia in exchange for its troops and weapons supplies, potentially increasing the threat posed by leader Kim Jong Un's nuclear weapons and missile program.
