Champions Trophy 2025: 'Sold out', angry Pakistani fans now target Pakistan Cricket Board
PC: news24online
Pakistan's cricket fans are angry and disappointed. The last one year has been a very difficult period for him. His team did not give Pakistan cricket fans much reason to be happy. Both the ODI and T20 World Cups turned out to be somewhat of a blur as Pakistan was eliminated from both ICC events and now the complications that have arisen over hosting the Champions Trophy have further increased the anger of Pakistanis.
Is Pakistan really improving?
Just when Pakistani fans were raising some hopes about the conditions in their country due to improvement in cricket hosting, then another twist came into the situation. After that horrific attack on the Sri Lankan team in Pakistan in 2009, Pakistan gradually regained its confidence in the cricket world and all the countries except India started visiting Pakistan for bilateral series. But with the Champions Trophy under threat of elimination, fans believe the PCB has not done enough to maintain its position or garner enough support to oppose a powerful team like India. Many angry voices are coming from Pakistan.
PCB and Naqvi are not taking adequate steps
Mohsin Naqvi is clearly under criticism here, because Naqvi is not only the PCB chief but also the Federal Home Minister in the Government of Pakistan. All the reactions have come as Islamabad is unable to control the ongoing unrest in Pakistan. All this is damaging the PCB. The sudden outrage of cricket fans actually matches the sentiments of the fans. They feel that Pakistan will not be able to retain its right to host the Champions Trophy, especially as fans are angry after no decision was taken at the ICC meeting today.
