“He plays like an Australian and I support RCB”: Australian minister shows his admiration for Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the most loved visiting batters in Australia. The veteran has earned respect due to his magnificent performances over the years Down Under. The right-handed batter has smashed seven hundreds in Test matches in Australia, and his popularity continues to rise in this part of the world.

The visiting Indian team is in Canberra for the two-day pink-ball warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Kohli and the other members of the Indian team were invited to the Australian Parliament House. Apart from meeting Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Virat had a conversation with the ministers, and one of them took to social media to share his admiration for the Indian National Cricket team player.

Australian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Tim Watts shared a picture with Virat on social media.

“A bit of a thrill to meet the Australian and Indian players in the PM’s XI game at Parliament House tonight. I told @virat.kohli that I support @royalchallengers.bengaluru in the @iplt20 because it’s the only opportunity I get to legitimately barrack for him. I give him the highest praise I can offer any international cricketer when I say that I’ve loved watching him play because he plays like an Australian. Just not when he’s playing AGAINST Australia, of course,’ he wrote.

Kohli scored a hundred in the second innings of the first test at the Optus Stadium in Perth, and India won the match by 295 runs on Dday.
