True Messiah of the women’s world: Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar
Lucknow. In the capital Lucknow (Amita Ambedkar), half of India’s population i.e. women power had been kept in double slavery of caste and patriarchy for centuries. The great man who broke the chains of this slavery was none other than the most revered Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. He is the greatest warrior for women’s liberation and the true Messiah. Casteist and Manuwadi historians first tried to make Babasaheb disappear from history. When Bahujan Samaj Party under the leadership of Honorable Kanshi Ram Saheb and sister Mayawati ji took Baba Saheb to the masses, then these people hatched a new conspiracy. Now they are bent on belittling Baba Saheb by calling him only the “Messiah of Dalits”. But the truth is that Babasaheb is not only the liberator of Dalits but of the entire Indian women race. He is the father of the nation of modern India.
Baba Saheb never saw women in a narrow circle. He had clearly said, “I measure the progress of society by the progress of women.” Therefore, she worked to ensure equal rights for women in every field. The biggest work was done through Hindu Code Bill. It contained revolutionary things like giving daughters equal rights to inherit ancestral property as sons, right to divorce, recognition of inter-caste marriages and ban on polygamy. The conservative people of that time got so scared that even the Nehru government had to step back and Babasaheb had to leave the post of minister.
But Babasaheb did not stop. Later, this Hindu Code Bill was passed in pieces and today Babasaheb laid the foundation of the share in property that every daughter gets. Even in the Indian Constitution, Babasaheb gave strong rights to women. Gender equality guaranteed through Articles 14, 15, 16. Gave the right to make special laws for women and children. The biggest thing – women in India got the right to vote even before England and America, this was the foresight of Baba Saheb.
To protect the laboring women, Baba Saheb made arrangements for maternity benefit law, safety of women in mines and maternity leave. He also strongly attacked evils like child marriage, Devdasi system and widow oppression. Babasaheb laid maximum emphasis on the education of girls. He had said – “Educate women, so that she can come out of the mentality of slavery.” He provided scholarships and hostels to hundreds of Bahujan-Dalit daughters.
Today, when it comes to women empowerment, some people praise their name, but the name of the real rightful person, Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar, is deliberately suppressed. Remember – the day you cast your vote, take share in property, get a job, choose your life partner – Baba Saheb is behind every happiness. Babasaheb is not the only messiah of the Dalits, nor only of the Bahujans. He is the true savior of every daughter, every mother, every sister of India and the biggest messiah of the women’s world. He is the nation builder of India.
