As soon as Putin returned, Trump made the biggest move, America’s ‘nuke sniffer’ spy loomed over Russia.
US Spy Plane Russia: The growing nuclear tension between Russia and America has now reached a new turning point. Just after the return of President Vladimir Putin from his visit to India, an aggressive strategy of US President Donald Trump has come to the fore.
The US flew a WC-135R “Constant Phoenix” nuke sniffer from one of its special military aircraft deployed in Japan towards Russia’s Pacific coast. This plane was caught hovering very close to the sky of Russia, after which there was panic in Moscow.
sniffing the air ready to catch
The American move is being considered as a direct message from Trump that he is ready to detect any Russian nuclear activity by “sniffing” it in the air. This step has been taken at a time when Putin had recently ordered Russia to prepare for nuclear tests and in response Trump had also asked the US Army to move towards nuclear testing.
While both countries are committed to not conducting nuclear tests in the atmosphere, space and under water under the Limited Test Ban Treaty of 1963, recent developments indicate that this treaty is now only in name.
WC-135R aircraft power
The ‘Nuke Sniffer’ aircraft has the ability to collect radioactive particles and gases from the atmosphere. It can detect traces of not natural, but man-made nuclear activities. Due to this ability, it is used to detect nuclear tests, accidents or secret explosions. According to the report, the aircraft caught flying over Russia has registration number 64-14829 and is part of the American ‘Mobile Nuclear Airborne Sampling Mission’.
Data from Flightradar24 showed the plane took off from Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, lost track over Hokkaido and reappeared over the Sea of Okhotsk about eight hours later. Its flight pattern itself shows that this mission was very sensitive.
Russia’s tension has increased earlier also
This is not the first incident when America’s nuke sniffer has been seen very close to Russia. Earlier also it was tracked near Novaya Zemlya, where Russia tests its nuclear-powered Burevestnik cruise missile. In an October test, the missile covered a distance of 8,700 miles in 15 hours, after which Putin described it as a unique weapon.

What will happen now?
It is clear from the new spy flight that both America and Russia are trying to gauge each other’s nuclear capability. Experts say that this incident can further deepen the already existing mistrust between the two superpowers and the graph of nuclear tension can go up rapidly.
