How much money will Virat Kohli earn by playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy?

Overview:

Following his Ranji Trophy appearance last season under BCCI norms, Kohli will return to domestic limited-overs cricket after an absence of more than 15 years.

Virat Kohli, the seasoned India player, will make a long-awaited return to the 50-over format for Delhi, having last played in the 2009-10 List A season.

Virat Kohli is set to wear the Delhi jersey in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the development has been confirmed by DDCA. The tournament begins on December 24, with Delhi placed in Group D alongside Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Services, Railway, Haryana and Gujarat.

How much will Virat Kohli earn in the Vijay Hazare Trophy?

The BCCI’s match fee structure for domestic List A events, such as the Vijay Hazare Trophy, is determined solely by a player’s List A match experience. For players with fewer than 21 List A appearances, the fee is Rs 40,000 per match; those with 21 to 40 matches get Rs 50,000, and experienced players like Virat Kohli, with over 300 matches, are eligible for the top bracket of Rs 60,000.

This consistent payment model applies exclusively to league stage games and shows the significant difference from Kohli’s A+ central contract, which includes an annual INR 7 crore retainer and higher international match fees.

Out of Delhi’s seven league games, Kohli will feature in just three. He will face Andhra Pradesh on December 24, Gujarat on December 26, and Railways on January 6. His total earnings from the Vijay Hazare Trophy could be Rs 1.8 lakh.
