- Real reason for cancellation: Indigo is saying ‘operational problem’, but the government wants to know how so many planes suddenly broke down? Was there a lack of maintenance or a shortage of pilots?
- Condition of passengers: Were passengers on canceled flights given refunds? Did they get hotel and food? (As per rules this is the responsibility of the airline).
- Black marketing of tickets: Were the flights canceled and tickets sold later at higher prices? This will also be investigated.
‘Warning’ given to Indigo
According to sources, the ministry has given an ‘ultimatum’ to the airline management. He is told that:
- Normalize operations as soon as possible.
- Provide immediate refund or another flight to passengers who have missed their flights.
- Tell us your plan to deal with such situations in future.
Relief for common travelers
This step of the government has given some courage to the common passengers.
