Asit Kumar Modi, producer of Indian television’s most popular serial ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ (TMKOC), has recently commented on TV, OTT platforms and the future of his show.
Attending an awards show to mark 25 years of the Indian Television Academy (ITA), Asit Modi spoke on the importance of the Indian television industry and how long his show will continue to entertain the audience.

On this occasion, Asit Modi emphasized the importance of the award show. He said that the show is being organized to honor the hard work and contribution of the artists and technicians of Indian television.
When asked about technology and platforms, he expressed his strong opinions on the future of TV:
TV will always have a place: “Technology makes a difference. People say TV is watched less, but I believe if good content is shown then viewers will come. TV brings the family together. The whole family watches it together. TV has always had its place.”
Fifty-six victims for the audience: Regarding social media and OTT, he said that today every platform – be it OTT, TV or social media – is providing good content.
“For viewers, it’s like taking Chhappan Bhog (all kinds of food). Favorite shows are also available on the app. If you don’t like it, you can change the channel or app.”
