New Delhi: The first day of the new year is considered a symbol of hopes and new energy for everyone. In Indian scriptures, Brahma Muhurta is especially described as such a sacred time, when the sadhana and spiritual activities done give manifold results. According to astrologers, if the year 2026 is started at this auspicious time with some simple and traditional remedies, then there will be happiness, prosperity and positivity in the house throughout the year.

It is believed that remembering God, chanting mantras and doing good deeds during Brahma Muhurta removes negativity from a person’s life and provides blessings of stable Lakshmi. In such a situation, auspicious results can be obtained by adopting these measures on the arrival of the New Year.

Look at your palms as soon as you wake up in the morning.

Astrologers believe that it is very auspicious to see your palms immediately after waking up. It is believed that Gods and Goddesses reside in the front part of the palms and just by looking at them one gets the virtue of seeing God. Meanwhile, ‘Karagre Vasati Lakshmi, Kar Madhey Saraswati, Karmule Tu Govindah, Prabhate Kar Darshanam.’ Chanting the mantra is considered auspicious. It is said that by chanting this mantra in Brahma Muhurta, Goddess Lakshmi resides permanently in the house and wealth and prosperity increases.

Spraying Gangajal with Tulsi wood

On the first day of the new year, in Brahma Muhurta, tie Kalava on a small stick of Tulsi and prepare a vessel filled with Ganga water. After this, with the help of this wood, sprinkle Ganga water in every corner of the house. According to traditional beliefs, doing this removes negative energy from the house, drives out sorrow and poverty and infuses positivity. People who adopt this remedy regularly, obstacles and problems do not enter their house.

Lighting a lamp near Tulsi

Astrologers advise to light a lamp near Tulsi during Brahma Muhurta on the first day of the new year. Offer water and Kalava to Tulsi and then sit there and chant the mantras of Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that by doing this, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi remain constant and the effect of poverty and suffering in life is reduced. After this puja, donating food or money to a needy person gives auspicious results.
