President, Prime Minister saddened by Goa accident, Central Government will provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased.

New Delhi . President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the Goa accident. The Prime Minister has announced immediate financial assistance for the families of the deceased. Modi has announced in an X message that each family of those killed in the accident in Arpora, Goa will be given an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.

Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu said in an X message, “Deeply saddened by the tragic incident of fire in North Goa district, in which many precious lives were lost. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. May they find strength in this difficult time. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
This accident occurred due to a fire in a night club in Arpora, North Goa late night. 23 people died in this. Goa Police Director General Alok Kumar said that all the deceased were employees of the club. The fire started after an explosion in the cylinder. He said that 23 bodies have been recovered so far.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and local MLA Michael Lobo reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Lobo said that there is no information yet about any casualty of any tourist in this accident. Officials said that relief and rescue operations have been immediately started to control the fire and further investigation.

He told that this fire accident happened due to people who ignored the rules and ran such institutions illegally and 23 people lost their lives. The government will investigate this incident.
