Husband is marrying for the second time in Delhi, Pakistani woman appealed to PM Modi for justice
New Delhi: Nikita Nagdev, a Pakistani woman resident of Karachi, has made serious allegations against her husband Vikram Nagdev and demanded justice. Nikita claims that her husband left her after bringing her to India after marriage and is now preparing for second marriage in Delhi. In her emotional video message, Nikita has appealed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help.
The marriage took place as per Hindu customs
According to Nikita, she married Vikram Nagdev on 26 January 2020 in Karachi with Hindu traditions. Vikram is a person of Pakistani origin, who was living in Indore on a long-term visa. About a month after the marriage, on 26 February 2020, Vikram brought her with him to India. Nikita tells that everything was normal in the initial days of marriage, but within a few months her life changed completely.
Dropped at the border on the pretext of visa
Nikita says that 9th July 2020 was the day which turned her life upside down. According to her, Vikram left her at Attari border saying that there was a technical problem with her visa and she would have to go back to Pakistan for some time. Nikita alleges that all this was an excuse and she was forced to return to Pakistan. After this, Vikram made no attempt to invite him to India again.
In her message, Nikita says, “I kept requesting him every time to call me back, but he always refused. Now he is preparing for his second marriage in Delhi.”
If justice is not given, women’s trust will be broken
In the video released from Karachi, Nikita says emotionally that she is struggling in the hope of justice. Her words were, “If I do not get justice today, many women will lose faith in the justice system. Many girls suffer atrocities in their in-laws. I appeal to everyone to stand with me.”
Serious allegations against in-laws too
Nikita claimed that after returning to Pakistan, when she reached her in-laws’ house again, the behavior of the family suddenly changed. She said, “I came to know that my husband had an affair with one of my relatives. When I told this to my father-in-law, he said that boys have affairs, nothing can be done about it. According to Nikita, this was very shocking and sad for her.
Mediation attempt also failed
The matter later reached the Sindhi Panch Mediation and Legal Consultancy Centre. This center was authorized by the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The Center issued notices to Vikram Nagdev and his alleged wife and also conducted a hearing. However, it was not possible to reach any solution.
The report dated April 30, 2025, said that since neither of the couple is an Indian citizen, the case falls under the jurisdiction of Pakistan. The report also suggested that Vikram be sent to Pakistan so that the legal process could proceed there.
