BJP angry at Congress workers who took off their shirts in Bharat Mandapam, said – conspiracy to tarnish the image

Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday targeted the opposition party over the protest organized by the Congress youth wing workers during the ‘AI Impact Summit’. The party alleged that Youth Congress workers had created a ruckus at the venue on the instructions of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to damage India’s global image.

A group of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers on Friday protested at an exhibition hall of the ‘AI Impact Summit’, raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following which they were removed by security personnel. A senior police officer said that about 10 people protesting at the AI summit were detained.

BJP leader Amit Malviya, reacting to the development, said, “At a time when India is hosting a prestigious global AI summit showcasing its innovation and leadership in this technology, the Congress party chose disruption over dignity.” Malviya criticized Congress workers for creating a ruckus by removing their shirts at the venue, saying that the act was “clearly done to embarrass India on the world stage.”

He said that when the country is striving to establish itself as a global technology superpower, such conduct only serves the interests of those who want to see India faltered. Malviya said, “Political protest is a democratic right, but damaging India’s global image is not. India deserves better than this.” BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari posted on ‘X’, “Shame on the Congress party. Congress behaves like ‘urban Naxals’.

Congress is an anti-India party.” He alleged that Congress workers “stormed the venue of the ‘AI Impact Summit’ on the instructions of Rahul Gandhi and raised objectionable slogans.” Bhandari said, “Rahul Gandhi, the Congress and the Gandhi-Vadra family should apologize to the country and its youth.” Meanwhile, a photograph has surfaced in which Rahul Gandhi can be seen walking with Narasimha Yadav, who had reportedly led the protests at the summit.
