What happened in Trump-Sharif meeting, video went viral
During the Board of Peace meeting in America, Donald Trump took credit for stopping India-Pakistan tension and asked Shehbaz Sharif to stand up. As soon as the video went viral, a debate broke out. India rejected claims of any third party mediation.
Board of Peace: ADuring the first meeting of the Board of Peace held in America, a moment came to light which sparked debate on social media. The video of the conversation between US President Donald Trump and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is becoming increasingly viral. In this video, Trump is seen praising his own role and at the same time he asks Shehbaz Sharif to stand up.
During the meeting, Trump appeared to give himself credit for stopping the military tension between India and Pakistan. He said that this was a big matter and the situation was resolved with his intervention. During this time he asked Sharif to stand up. Trump said, “Pakistan and India, this was a big deal. I think you should stand up. Come on, please stand up. Pakistan and India, thank you very much.” This statement became a topic of discussion as soon as it came out.
Trump’s claim
In the meeting, Trump also said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan himself had claimed that his initiative led to a ceasefire between the two countries and this saved the lives of about 25 million people. Trump once again reiterated that if he had not intervened, the situation could have worsened.
He also said that he spoke directly to the leaders of both the countries. According to Trump, he had given a clear message to India and Pakistan that if they do not end tensions, America will not move forward on a trade agreement with them.
Pressure created by tariff policy
Trump said he used the tariff policy as a means of pressure. In his words, “I called both of them. I know Prime Minister Narendra Modi very well. I told them that if you guys do not resolve this issue, I will not do a trade deal with both of you and then suddenly we reached an agreement.”
Thanks to Shahbaz Sharif
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also thanked Trump in the meeting. He said that the situation had become very sensitive at that time. Especially during Operation Sindoor, tension between the two countries was increasing rapidly. Sharif said that America’s role was important in such an environment.

India rejected claims of mediation
However, India has already rejected the claim of any third country’s mediation. India clearly says that after the military confrontation in May, the agreement to stop the conflict was made through direct talks between the Director General of Military Operations of the armies of the two countries.
India launched Operation Sindoor on 7 May. This action was taken targeting the terrorist structure. This operation was launched as a response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. India’s stand has been clear that this decision was entirely the result of bilateral military dialogue and not of any external pressure.
